Move over, “another feather in your cap.” On Wednesday (March 16) night, another seemingly easy Wheel of Fortune puzzle stumped contestants, who struggled to solve the puzzle “Renting a Pedal Boat.”
The contestants managed to figure out most of the answer, but got stuck on the word “pedal.”
After contestant Crystal deduced that the final word was “boat,” she attempted to solve the puzzle, guessing, “Renting a paddle boat.”
Close, but too many letters! Next up was contestant Sean, who bought an E, making the puzzle read: “Renting a Peda_ Boat.”
Confused, Sean also guessed “paddle boat” — pay attention, people!
The next contestant, Michelle, didn’t fare much better. She guessed “pedam boat,” which does not exist in our current reality. But most absurd was Crystal guessing “pedaw boat” on her second round. You have to admire these players’ audacity at this point.
Luckily, Sean finally put an end to the whole farce when he finally solved the puzzle. “A little pretentious,” he quipped.
Meanwhile, host Pat Sajak seemed relieved that the round was finally over.
Everybody’s been saying paddle, and a paddle boat is a little different thing,” he explained, before mimicking the pedaling that it takes to get a pedal board going. You learn something new every day!
