Where Was ‘Deep Water’ Filmed?

Deep Water, which made a big splash (sorry) on Hulu this past weekend, stars Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas as an unhappily married couple named Vic and Melinda Van Allen. Realizing their unhappy situation, the couple have an agreement that Melinda can cheat on Vic, and Vic, who is aware of the affairs, can seethe about it, because Melinda’s end of the deal is that she can screw around but she can’t ask Vic for a divorce.

The Van Allens are also wealthy because Vic, a computer programmer, retired after selling an invention of his to the U.S. government. Now they can spend absolutely all their time having angry, resentful sex in a gorgeous Louisiana mansion bought with Vic’s government cheese.

Eagle-eyed fans might even recognize the the house where the Van Allens live, as it’s become a popular filming location for shows that take place in and around New Orleans. So where exactly was Deep Water shot?

Where was Deep Water filmed?

Deep Water is set in the fictional town of Little Wesley, Louisiana, and the film was shot on location in and around New Orleans during 2019 and 2020, though production experienced some delays due to Covid.

Where is the Van Allen’s home in Deep Water?

The Van Allens home, which is called Urbania House, is a real home located in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District owned by Julie Simpson and Banks McClintock, who purchased the home in 2009 and have rented it out for use in numerous TV and film projects. Among the many projects the home has appeared in are 12 Years A Slave, A Little Bit of Heaven, Treme, Hell Baby, and American Horror Story.
