Anne Hathaway’s Version Of “Since U Been Gone” Knocks Kelly Clarkson Flat on the Floor: Watch

It’s time for another round of “Sing That Name That Tune” on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and today’s contestant, Anne Hathaway, went head to head with Kelly Clarkson to beat her at her own game.

Hathaway was visiting the talk show to promote her new Apple TV+ show WeCrashed, in which she plays Rebekah Neumann, one of the entrepreneurs behind the failed WeWork co-working business along with her husband Adam, played by Jared Leto. But Hathaway WeCRUSHED it when it came time to sing with Kelly during a version of her singing competition “Sing That Name That Tune,” where guests compete against Kelly to be the first one to sing a song once her band starts playing the notes.

Clarkson, who has no problem performing killer versions of other people’s songs like her Kellyoke rendition of Aerosmith’s “Dream On”, dropped to the floor when Hathaway recognized the opening beat to “Since U Been Gone” and belted out the chorus before Clarkson could get a chance to. “How did you know it from just that?” Clarkson asked Hathaway. “She knew it from boom-boom-boom-boom-boom!”

“Kelly Clarkson, if you do not understand how much we all love that song – Everybody here knew it!” Hathaway said, praising the host.

“This is embarrassing,” Clarkson responded.

Comedian and TV host Matt Iseman, who was refereeing the game, jokingly rubbed salt into the wound when he added, “Kelly Clarkson just missed her own song!”

You can watch Hathaway’s full appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show (which also features The Gilded Age‘s Louisa Jacobson) on today’s episode.
