Christina Ricci Joins Cast Of ‘Addams Family’ Netflix Series ‘Wednesday’

Christina Ricci is getting kooky and spooky all over again. According to Deadline, the Yellowjackets star — who played Wednesday in the ’90s films The Addams Family and Addams Family Values — is joining the cast of Tim Burton‘s upcoming Netflix series Wednesday.

Scream actress Jenna Ortega stars as the titular Addams daughter, while further details about Ricci’s role are still being kept under wraps. Originally ordered by Netflix back in February, Wednesday is set to follow its title character during her mysterious time as a student at Nevermore Academy. While attempting to master her emerging psychic ability, Wednesday must thwart a monstrous killing spree, solve a supernatural family mystery, and somehow find time to deal with all the usual growing pains of growing up in the meantime. Perhaps Ricci could give her some pointers!

Alongside Ortega, the series also stars Catherine Zeta Jones and Luis Guzmán as Wednesday’s parents, Morticia and Gomez Addams.

Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar serve as the creators of Wednesday, which will consist of eight episodes. Burton will direct and executive produce the series, with Gough, Millar, Kayla Alpert, Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Kevin Miserocchi, Jonathan Glickman, and Gail Berman also executive producing.

Stay tuned for the upcoming trailer, premiere date, and more for Netflix’s Wednesday.
