‘Emily In Paris’ Star Lily Collins Says She Had Weekly Podiatrist Visits While Filming To “Fix Her Feet”

I have this bunion, and lord knows I need a lot of professional help to fix it. And, as the saying goes, “Stars! They’re just like us!” because it turns out actress Lily Collins also needs a lot of help with her feet, too. The Emily In Paris actress visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, and opened up about the physical toll that shooting her show takes on her feet.

After Fallon suggested that her character, Emily, leave Paris so the show can take place in other cities all over the world, Collins agreed to the idea with one caveat. “I just want to go to streets where you can wear flats,” she said, “because wearing heels, I mean, you wouldn’t think how painful that can be in Paris. I actually literally went to a podiatrist every week to fix my feet because I was wearing heels all the time.”

Turns out, walking around cobblestone streets in precariously pointy shoes can wreak havoc on your feet.

“I had to have, like, insoles made for every pair of shoes,” Collins told Fallon, who suggested that the show film a season where Emily just wears sneakers, to which Collins suggested they change the show’s name to “Emily in Flats.” Considering that Emily In Paris has been picked up by Netflix for two more seasons, we think there’s nothing wrong with a little character evolution in which Emily realizes that the health of her arches is more important than accessorizing her power blazers and sundresses with a 4-inch heel.

Collins also discussed the release of her latest film with Fallon. Windfall, a psychological thriller which co-stars Jesse Plemons and Jason Segel, came out last Friday. Both Windfall and both seasons of Emily In Paris are both available on Netflix.
