Jimmy Kimmel Calls Sen. Josh Hawley A “Creep” for Accusations Against Ketanji Brown Jackson

On the second day of Supreme Court confirmation hearings, which will determine whether or not Ketanji Brown Jackson will sit on the court, Republican senators accused Jackson of being soft on crime. One senator in particular, Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri, has been promoting the idea that Jackson has “a pattern of letting child porn offenders off the hook for their appalling crimes” both in the hearings and on his social media platforms.

While CNN reports that the White House has blasted Hawley for touting “misinformation,” late night host Jimmy Kimmel has taken it even further, pointing out during his Jimmy Kimmel Live monologue that it’s hypocritical for Hawley to accuse Jackson of being lenient with sex criminals when Hawley himself is friendly with Matt Gaetz.

Gaetz is the Florida congressman accused of sex trafficking underaged girls and paying them hush money via Venmo, and he is currently represented by infamous sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyer.

Kimmel showed a photo of Hawley and Gaetz together.

“What a creep this guy is. The senator from Missouri spent much of his 30 allotted minutes reading a list of child porn videos from a case the judge worked on – oh, that’s not a joke,” Kimmel said, as the audience laughed.

“He’s trying to throw meat to these QA-nuts and also smear a woman who’s a mother of two daughters and quite clearly is not pro-child porn. But here is Josh Hawley sharing an elbow bump with Matt Gaetz, a fine, upstanding American who very innocently Venmos teenage girls, because he… he’s nice, is why he does that.”

Kimmel added, “It’s funny listening to the same people who let the president get away with trying to overthrow the government call anyone soft on crime.”
