‘The Batman’ HBO Max, Vudu Release Date Revealed

Gotham’s coolest superhero is back, and he’s finding a home on HBO Max and Vudu! In press releases provided to Decider, it was confirmed that The Batman will debut on HBO Max and Vudu on Monday, April 18, as well as airing on HBO on Saturday, April 23 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The Matt Reeves-directed film originally premiered in theaters on March 4 in the United States, and has since raked in over $600 million worldwide, as fans clamor to see their favorite crime fighter in action. And now, vengeance is heading home.

When a sadistic serial killer targets Gotham City’s elite, The Batman (Robert Pattinson) must follow their trail of cryptic clues that lead to an investigation into the city’s dark underworld. There, he encounters unforgettable characters like Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), The Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and The Riddler (Paul Dano). When the evidence starts leading close to home and reveals the full (and frightening) scale of the perpetrator’s plans, it is up to The Batman to forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to Gotham City.

The film currently boasts an 85% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has garnered critical acclaim for its gritty and ambitious film noir take on the beloved DC superhero. For those who have been holding off of seeing it in theaters, perhaps intimidated by the movie’s 2 hour and 56 minute runtime, now is the perfect time to catch it, as you can take a trip to Gotham for free from the comforts of home.

And for those who don’t have HBO Max, now just might be the time to hop onboard by signing up for either their $9.99/month plan (with ads) or their $14.99/month ad-free plan. The Batman will also be available to rent and buy on Vudu, with no monthly subscription required. Either way, depending on where you live, it just may be less than a movie ticket!
