When Will ‘Derry Girls’ Season 3 Be On Netflix? How To Watch ‘Derry Girls’ In The USA

The first season of the beloved Netflix series Derry Girls appeared on the platform in 2019, and Season 2 quickly followed suit later the same year. And yet, over two years later, we still haven’t seen Season 3. I mean, sure there was a pandemic, but still, we’ve been dying to find out what’s been going on with Erin, Clare, Orla, and Michelle.

What is Derry Girls about?

The show, created by Lisa McGee, is about a group of four delightfully foul-mouthed Catholic high school girls (and their one male friend, a wee English fella named James) in Londonderry, Northern Ireland in the 1990s, coming of age while their country is in the midst of political turmoil. The show is scored with a perfect ’90s soundtrack, and provides a hilarious look at what happens when puberty collides with Catholicism. What with Season 3 being the show’s final season, the show will come to an end as the teens’ graduation looms, and The Troubles in Ireland come to a close.

Derry Girls, a production of the UK’s Channel 4, is finally making its return to the airwaves in Britain; the Derry Girls Season 3 premiere is tonight on the British channel. The six-episode season will air weekly. Alas, we Americans are going to have to wait a bit longer to stream it.

When will Derry Girls Season 3 be available in the U.S.?

While we were hoping for a third season premiere this Summer, you’ll have to wait a little longer: Derry Girls Season 3 will premiere October 7 on Netflix. And yes, that’s the final season. In the meantime, catch up on some of our favorite Irish shows while you wait.
