Who’s ready for some playoff basketball!? Tonight’s first play-in game features the star-studded Nets taking on the phenom-filled Cavs. Both teams finished the season at 44-38, but Cleveland ended the regular season losing seven of ten, including a 118-107 loss to the Nets on April 8. The winner of tonight’s matchup clinches the No. 7 seed and a first-round matchup with the Celtics, while the losing team will face the winner of Wednesday night’s Hornets/Hawks matchup for a chance to claim the eighth seed.

NETS VS CAVS PREDICTION:
Experience is paramount in the postseason. I’m backing Durant and Irving to lead Brooklyn to victory, but the Cavs are an ascending squad of young talent that shouldn’t be taken lightly. The Jarrett Allen injury is a tough break for a fun team, and while Cleveland’s future is bright, I don’t think they’re quite ready to make a substantial run.
I like the Nets to win, but the +9.5 spread is a little too high for me. My prediction: Nets 110-103.
