Netflix has just dropped the trailer for its upcoming series Savage Beauty, and the South African thriller promises loads of secrets, betrayal and, obviously, beauty.
The series stars South African actress and singer Rosemary Zimu, who also appeared in the 2019 Netflix series Shadow. In Savage Beauty, Zimu stars as a model named Zinhle Manzini who is named as the face of a legendary cosmetics brand, Benghu Beauty. The heads of the beauty brand, Don and Grace Benghu bring Manzini to live in their lavish “Benghu House” where she becomes embedded in not just the company, but within the ranks of their highly secretive family.
Unbeknownst to them, Manzini has a secret of her own, she plans to expose the secrets they’re hiding in order to destroy the company and the family. In her quest for revenge, she needs to work quickly before the family learns her real identity.
The series was created by Lebogang Mogashoa and also stars Dumisani Mbebe and Nthati Moshesh as the secretive Don and Grace Benghu, as well as Angela Sithole, Nambitha Ben-Mazwi, Jesse Suntele and Oros Mampofu as the rest of the Benghu family.
Savage Beauty premieres on Netflix on May 12.
