‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Exclusive Clip: Charlie Is Back!

It’s been a bit since we’ve seen Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) on Fear the Walking Dead, but one of the zombie apocalypse’s most precocious teens is back on this week’s episode, titled “Mourning Cloak”. And in Decider’s exclusive look at the episode, it seems like — as usual — Charlie is in a whole lot of trouble.

In the scene, a new character is wandering the woods with a butterfly in a jar (perhaps the mourning cloak of the title?) and a gun in his hand, when he encounters young Charlie either trying to steal his horse, or rob his supplies.

After a tense stand-off including a member of the undead, and an aborted attack by Charlie, we find out that she’s alone, and just trying to stay alive. Or, is she? Just as it looks like the newcomer is starting to believe her, up trots Howard (Omad Abtahi) and John Dorie Sr. (Keith Carradine). John recognizes Charlie as “one of Morgan’s,” which of course intrigues Howard. After all, he’s Strand’s (Colman Domingo) second in command, and Strand likes nothing more than to have one up on his old sparring partner Morgan.

You can watch the rest of the scene above, but it’s clear based on the synopsis for the episode that Charlie — as usual — has more planned than she’s indicating:

When Charlie shows up at the tower unexpectedly, Howard recruits a young Ranger in training to determine the reason for her visit. As they journey beyond the tower together, Charlie’s true motives are revealed.

So what are Charlie’s plans? And will the “young Ranger” end up on the wrong end of them? You’ll have to watch the episode to find out.

New episodes of Fear the Walking Dead air Sundays at 9/8c on AMC, and stream a week early on AMC+.
