‘Selling Sunset’ on Netflix: Meet Chelsea Lazkani, Season 5’s New Realtor

Selling Sunset is back — and the cast is bigger than ever. Not only is the entire original cast still around, but Season 4 additions Vanessa Villela and Emma Hernan are back for another season. But it’s not a season of Selling Sunset if the realtors aren’t figuring out where a newbie’s allegiances lie — and Season 5 is not here to disappoint.

Season 5 features the debut of a new realtor named Chelsea Lazkani, and she is definitely here to shake things up for the agents at the Oppenheim group. For one thing, she’s thoroughly #TeamChristine — and you know that’s gonna rock the boat. So, who is Chelsea Lazkani? Let’s find out!

Who is Chelsea Lazkani?

Chelsea Lazkani is the newest realtor to join the Oppenheim Group on Selling Sunset. Okay, she’s the latest realtor to attempt to join the Oppenheim Group. If you’ve already started watching Season 5 (now out on Netflix), then you know that Chelsea’s determination to join the team is a big storyline this year. She does have more than a few things going for her that make her a natural fit for Selling Sunset.

1. She’s a professional.

Chelsea has been working in real estate in California since 2017, back when she started her career at Rodeo Realty. Chelsea also has two degrees, one from the University of Birmingham and another from the University of Dundee in Scotland.

2. Her husband knows Jason Oppenheim.

Chelsea originally hails from the United Kingdom but a trip to the States turned into a permanent move when she met her husband, Jeff Lazkani. The couple got married in 2017 and they now have two children together — a son and a daughter born in January 2019 and November 2020, respectively. Jeff works as a VP at the advertising and marketing agency Icon Media Direct, and it’s through Jeff that Chelsea met Jason Oppenheim.

3. She has connections in the Oppenheim Group and ambitions beyond just being a realtor.

Chelsea hits it off with Selling Sunset diva supreme Christine Quinn in the premiere. These two are perfect for each other, as they’re both incredibly fierce and Chelsea can serve a killer look just like Christine.

As for her ambitions, Chelsea hopes that her arrival on Selling Sunset will spark change in the real estate industry. “I saw this as an opportunity to really open doors in an industry that has lacked diversity and where minorities are underrated,” Chelsea told People. “I feel like with great opportunities comes great responsibility. This was kind of my time to give back and to educate and really mentor and push forward Black women in this luxury sector in real estate. So just knowing that I’ve got a greater purpose kind of prepared me for this.”
