WHO’S THAT GAL: Emma Pasarow

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Pasarow stars as Auden in Along for the Ride, a Netflix Original title that premieres on the platform this Friday, on May 6. Based on the 2009 Sarah Dessen novel of the same name, this romantic-drama film follows Auden (Emma Pasarow) and the mysterious Eli (Belmont Cameli), a fellow insomniac whom she meets during the summer before leaving for college. Each night whilst the seaside town of Colby slumbers, the pair sets off on a journey to help Auden experience the carefree and fun-filled teen life she never had or knew she wanted. In addition to Pasarow and Cameli, the movie also features Kate Bosworth, Andie MacDowell, Dermot Mulroney, Laura Kariuki, Genevieve Hannelius, and Marcus Scribner, so be sure to check out all of their great work in the delightful and heartfelt tale of falling in love and coming-of-age that is Along for the Ride as soon as it drops on Netflix.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Pasarow’s professional onscreen career began in 2012, when she appeared as Tween Girl in an episode of Fox sci-fi drama series Touch. She took a bit of a break before bursting back onto the scene in 2019 when she played Ms. Bell in short drama film Lena, before starring in short drama film Forget-Me-Not just two years later.

This year, however, seems to be Pasarow’s biggest yet, thanks to her feature film debut in romantic comedy-drama Am I OK?, which also featured stars like Dakota Johnson, Jermaine Fowler, Sonoya Mizuno, Molly Gordon, Sean Hayes, and Tig Notaro, in addition to appearing as Penny in three episodes of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kyle Chandler, and Uma Thurman-led Showtime biographical drama series Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber. All of this, on top of her upcoming headlining performance in Along for the Ride, makes it clear that Pasarow is gaining momentum and already proving herself as an accomplished, growing, and hard-working actress, and we can’t wait to see all that she will accomplish and pursue in the years ahead!

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Luckily, you won’t have to wait much longer to see more from Pasarow. The actress continues to be on a roll this year, with two short films captured and currently in post-production, as well as a feature film called Waubay, which is currently in pre-production. The shorts are horror-thriller Return to Sender and action-horror Kickstart My Heart, so look out for those hopefully dropping within the next year.
