On Netflix, comedy legend Mike Myers is applying his character acting chops to a brand-new original series, The Pentaverate. On Hulu, the Finnish horror film Hatching is going to “crack” your mind wide open. Get it? And if you are looking for some more thrills and adventure, the second season of the Prime original survivor series The Wilds is new on the platform. New on Netflix May 5: The Pentaverate

Character actor extraordinaire Mike Myers is back and is pulling out all the stops in The Pentaverate, the raucous original comedy series new on Netflix this weekend. A spinoff of Meyers’ 1993 romantic black comedy film, So I Married an Axe Murderer, the six-part show follows Candian journalist Ken Scarborough (Myers) as he embarks on a journey to expose the secret society called The Pentaverate in order to earn his job back. The secret society in question have collectively controlled the world and influenced global events since the Black Plague in 1347; and in true Myers fashion, all five members of the society are played by Myers himself! But in addition to the king of character acting, the cast is rounded out by other comedy stars Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders, and Lydia West. Prepare to laugh your ass off while watching The Pentaverate, one of the top shows new on Netflix this month.

New on Prime Video May 6: The Wilds Season 2

The second season of The Wilds is new on Prime Video this weekend. This original adventure mystery-drama series picks back up with the teens stranded on the island just as they have realized that they were placed there as part of a social experiment run by Gretchen Klein (Rachel Griffiths), the head of a program called Dawn of Eve. But the stakes will rise in season 2 as new drama and challenges take place — and a new island filled with all boys joins the experiment, too! Check out The Wilds Season 2 on Prime Video this weekend.

New on Hulu May 6: Hatching

New on Hulu this weekend is Hatching, a Finnish horror film that will keep you up every night for the foreseeable future. In Hatching, a 12-year-old gymnast is desperate to please her image-obsessed mother who lauds her family’s seemingly-idyllic life in her blog. One day, Tinja finds an egg in the forest and decides to bring it home and incubate it herself until a bizarre creature hatches. But the creature is not the only thing to crack open into this young girl’s world, and it soon becomes Tinja’s living nightmare — a nightmare that her mother refuses to see. Intrigued by this fascinating, critically-acclaimed film? We sure are!
