Kendall Jenner Cutting Cucumbers On ‘The Kardashians’ Makes For Truly Harrowing Television

Despite instigating a couple of sisterly disagreements and appearing in a widely lambasted Pepsi commercial, Kendall Jenner has remained one of the more low-key members of the Kardashian clan. However, Kendall is getting all the heat in the latest episode of the family’s new Hulu show The Kardashians after being mostly absent during the first half of the series due to a COVID-19 diagnosis.

In The Kardashians Episode 5, we get to see a little bit more into the 26-year-old model’s life from health habits and cutlery habits to a blowout fight with an unexpected family member.

In her first solo scene, Kendall hung out with fellow model pal Hailey Bieber as they prepared for a visit with some friends in Miami with IV bags, something Kendall says is what the duo considers “a really fun day” before admitting she’s been a hypochondriac her whole life. Though she isn’t letting what others think about her seemingly excessive health measures stop her as she says, “Things like this, they comfort me. They help because they just make me happy. And I don’t want anyone to judge me.”

But perhaps the real shocker of the episode and something fans picked up on right away came in a scene when “momager” Kris Jenner asked Kendall if she wanted the chef to cut up a cucumber for her. Though Kendall, a star just like us, stopped her mom and took on the “pretty easy” task herself as Kris encouraged her daughter with a “you go girl.” And boy was it harrowing to watch!

Kendall Cutting Cucumber

In the most bizarre, and as one Twitter user put it, “tragic” manner, Kendall used a massive knife and the most awkward hand placing to chop up her snack. If there’s one thing I learned from this scene, it’s to always let the chef cut things. At least Kendall was able to admit to her lackluster cutting skills to the camera.

Moments later, when we could all finally breathe again, Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend and father of her three children Scott Disick, waltzed in for a visit in what seems like his millionth scene of expressing his feelings on not being included in the family ever since the eldest Kardashian’s engagement to Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker. In the scene, Disick did not hold back on Kendall, who did not invite him to her birthday celebration, despite her claims that it was an “intimate” setting and she did not want to make her sister feel uncomfortable. As the two talked over one another, Kendall angrily fled the scene saying, “this is so [expletive] ridiculous.”

As tensions run high for the two, it is surprising for Kendall and Disick to be giving us our first big fight cliffhanger of the series. I definitely would’ve guessed it would’ve been between the three oldest sisters, but I won’t complain – Kendall has always been more in the background and I look forward to seeing her storyline gain some pickup.

In an episode filled with birthday parties, law school stress, and will-they-won’t-they let the ex hang out with the current fiancé drama, Kendall made her presence loud and clear and we can only hope to see more of it during the second half of the series.

The Kardashians airs every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. PT / Thursday at midnight ET on Hulu.
