Tom Wlaschiha, ‘Game of Thrones’ Jaqen H’ghar, Is In ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

He may be sporting a wispy dirtstache and a Russian accent, but there’s no mistaking those steely blue eyes anywhere: Tom Wlaschiha, best known as the mysterious Jaqen H’ghar on Game of Thrones, plays Dimitri on Stranger Things Season 4.

That’s great news for fans of the surprisingly handsome actor (I say surprisingly only because in both of the aforementioned roles he’s playing mysterious weirdos). But where else do you know Wlaschiha from? Here’s everything you need to know about Tom Wlaschiha, as well as Dimitri, the character he’s playing on Stranger Things Season 4.

Who Is Dimitri, The Character Tom Wlaschiha Plays In Stranger Things Season 4?

Great question. Love it. Spoilers for Stranger Things past this point, but the reports of Jim Hopper’s (David Harbour) death have been greatly exaggerated. We’ve known that Hopper survived the destruction of the Russian’s Upside Down portal back in Season 3 for a few years now, but Season 4 revealed how he survived, and how things are arguably worse for him now. After dodging the explosion, he was captured by the Russians and thrown into a work camp, fixing railroad tracks.

There he met Dimitri, a guard looking to be bribed in order to help Hopper get free. Dimitri set up a money exchange through an intermediary with Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), though he left the manner in which Hopper got free up to him. However, due to a double-cross, Dimitri and Hopper ended up in another, even worse Russian prison.

Along with other prisoners, Hopper and Dimitri were forced to fight a hungry Demogorgon in order to feed it. Luckily, by the end of Episode 7 they’ve both managed to survive the Demogorgon attack, and Hopper has reunited with Joyce and Murray (Brett Gelman). That’s where we leave Dimtri, though he’ll almost certainly play a role in the final two episodes of the season, which will premiere on July 1.

Who Is Enzo On Stranger Things?

Enzo isn’t a man… He’s a restaurant! Or more specifically, Enzo’s is the name of the Italian restaurant Joyce and Hopper were supposed to go on a date at before he, you know, “died.” However, “Enzo” is also the name Hopper gives Dimitri to use so that Joyce will trust him enough to help get Hopper out of the gulag. So Enzo is Dimitri. But Enzo as a character on his own does not exist.

Who Is Tom Wlaschiha, Who Plays Dimtri on Stranger Things Season 4?

Weirdly circular headlines in this piece, but okay. As mentioned before, Wlaschiha is probably best known for playing Jaqen H’ghar, the mysterious faceless man on Game of Thrones who helps train Arya Stark (Maisie Williams). I’ll note that it’s funny he’s once again helping someone who is at their lowest point and has been reduced to a person with no name (H’ghar’s frequent refrain was “a girl has no name” in case you forgot), and leave it at that.

Anyway, the currently 48 year old actor was born in Dresden, and performed extensively throughout his career in Germany. Post-Game of Thrones, he’s branched out considerably with roles on Crossing Lines, Borgia and Prime Video’s Jack Ryan. However, his role as Dimitri is probably his biggest (at least for international audiences) since Game of Thrones. He’s also on Instagram if you want to check it out.
