There’s no better way to celebrate both the arrival of summer and the arrival of Pride Month than a trip to Fire Island in New York. And if you can’t make the ferry trip in person, then you can just watch the Fire Island movie on Hulu, a new romantic comedy that takes place on the famed vacation spot for queer people, and most especially gay men.
Comedian Joel Kim Booster wrote and stars in the film, which follows two best friends, Noah (Booster) and Howie (Bowen Yang) who are headed to Fire Island for their annual weekend of fun with their group of eclectic, queer friends. But they quickly learn that this is about to be their last weekend on Fire Island when their friend who owns the valuable real estate (played by the iconic Margaret Cho) reveals she is being forced to sell.
The friends try to enjoy their weekend nonetheless, as they help each other navigate the perils of love, sex, and romance at this transitory moment in their lives. Directed by Andrew Ahn, this is a movie made for queer people, by queer people, and is certainly worth your time this Pride Month. If you live in the United States, you can stream Fire Island on Hulu beginning on Friday, June 3. If you live outside of the U.S., you may be able to stream Fire Island on the Star content hub of Disney+ and Star+.

WHAT TIME WILL FIRE ISLAND BE ON HULU?
In the past, Hulu original films have debuted on the streaming service around midnight on the east coast, or 12 a.m. ET on the morning of Friday, June 3. That means if you’re on the west coast, you can watch Fire Island as early as 9 p.m. PT on Thursday night. However, times could vary slightly depending on what device you’re using to stream, so if the clock strikes midnight in New York City and you don’t yet see Fire Island on Hulu, give it 10 minutes or so and try again.
