‘The Kardashians’ Episode 9 Recap: Kourtney Kardashian and Benny Drama Team Up For Poosh Video

This week’s episode of The Kardashians on Hulu is not one to be missed. Kim Kardashian does her Sports Illustrated photoshoot all while feeling under the weather. Khloé Kardashian brings cameras into her business, Good American. And Kourtney Kardashian yet again proves herself to be “the funny one” when she invites viral Kardashian impersonator Benny Drama into her home.

Kourtney has not only been taking over everyone’s social media feeds with wedding photos these last few weeks, but she has made a standout comeback in the reality series. So much so that we almost completely forget how much she dreaded filming by the end of Keeping Up With The Kardashians

The reality star has let us into her whirlwind romance with Travis Barker, been openly honest about her fertility journey, and even let us watch her do a Yoni steam. But underneath all these cleanses and sweet nothings whispered to Travis, we shan’t forget what made us love Kourtney all those years ago: she simply has the best humor out of all the Kardashians. And if you don’t believe me, watch The Kardashians Episode 9.

Every year, Kourtney’s lifestyle website, Poosh, does a virtual festival called Poosh Your Wellness. According to the eldest sister, for the most recent installment, she wanted to “do something fun” where they weren’t taking themselves too seriously. That’s when her team came up with the idea of having Benny Drama, a comedian who went viral years ago for his satirical impersonations of the family, do a video for the site.

“I love that Benny can make fun of us in a way without crossing a line,” Kourtney told the cameras. She went on to point out that his impression of her, which includes a drawn-on widow’s peak, a lot of rock-on hand signage, and her distinguishable voice is an “exaggerated Kourtney.”

According to her, the two of them were at a mutual friend’s wedding when she asked him to do the video, saying her team was surprised she remembered to ask since she was so drunk, but ultimately boiled the business talk at a wedding down to it being “such a Kris Jenner thing.”

The video, which showed Benny doing a spoofed version of “a day in the life of Kourtney,” was definitely not something we knew we needed. From him waking up in her bed to doing pilates to thinking of a Poosh word of the day, the video captured the essence of what most joke about the laid-back, live-your-life sister doing: the bare minimum.

If it wasn’t enough to witness these two icons in the same room, dressed in similar clothes, seeing the comedian sift through Kourtney’s things while she was getting ready was even better.

“Honey, we’ve got an obsession, babes,” he joked about the reality star’s collection of Mickey ears. “Literally, we’ve got to scale back on Mickeys.”

Wearing Kourtney’s signature full black outfit and a pair of sunglasses that said “Kravis,” Benny said standing in her house dressed as her was “heaven” and that it’s “surreal to spend the day with someone that you’ve done videos of for so long.” But aside from his dreams coming true, he said the experience was very meta, joking that it’s what he and Kourtney like to do, “play with the metaverse.”

Most of this episode was a breath of lighthearted fresh air, something that will be short-lived seeing as it ended on a “to be continued” with yet another Tristan Thompson cheating scandal. But prior to that can of messy worms being reopened, Kourtney reminded us of one of the most important messages this episode had to send:

“Here’s the proof that I am and will forever be the funny one,” she said.

The season finale of The Kardashians airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. PT / Thursday at midnight ET on Hulu.
