Nothing inspires dread in a streamer quite like an expiration warning. This June, Archer has fallen victim to exactly that. But can we believe Hulu‘s warning about the future of this animated comedy?

Expiration warnings appear on shows and movies in the days before they’re scheduled to leave a streaming service. They’re essentially a signal to subscribers that they should start binge-watching before a beloved show or movie disappears. But as useful as this tool is, it’s not always reliable. Everyone misfiles things or forgets to change deadlines, even your favorite streaming services. This is what we know about Archer‘s streaming future and why it’s not time to panic just yet.

Is Archer Leaving Hulu?

Before we answer this question, let’s get into why it’s even being asked. Archer wasn’t included on Hulu’s list of titles that are leaving the service in June of 2022. But subscribers have noticed that an expiration warning has appeared on the show’s page:

Typically, seeing an expiration warning marks an open and shut case. But since Archer is an FXX show and this is Hulu we’re talking about, things are a bit more complicated. Hulu and FX have had a long history of working together. Not only do they share a parent company and majority shareholder — Disney — but the two brands have partnered together in the past to release exclusive content. Created in 2020, FX on Hulu was a branch that was responsible for series such as Devs, Mrs. America, A Teacher, and Y: The Last Man. Even Under the Banner of Heaver and the upcoming The Bear are remnants of that partnership. When that collaboration was first announced, a ton of FX shows came to live exclusively on the streaming service. FX on Hulu was dropped roughly a year later in 2021, but the partnership has remained. FX shows that have aired new seasons in 2022, like Better Things and Atlanta, have released new episodes on Hulu the day after they premiere on the cable network.

Adding to Archer‘s mystery is the status of the other FX shows on Hulu. Out of the 17 currently running FX and FXX shows on Hulu, only Archer has the expiration warning. Then there’s The Old Man. If there was a looming FX purge, why would a series that’s going to premiere this week have a Hulu show page, and why would FX advertise that viewers can stream it on Hulu?

A representative from Hulu has confirmed to Decider that Archer will not be leaving Hulu. The expiration tag was an error. We can all go back to using “phrasing.”

Where Can I Watch Archer?

At the moment, FX is the best streaming home for this show. Both fubo and FXNOW have one season a piece, and you can always digitally purchase the show on Amazon, iTunes, or Google Play. But Hulu is the only streaming service that has every season of Archer.

When Will Archer Season 13 Premiere?

The animated spy comedy was renewed for a Season 13 in 2021. We don’t know exactly when to expect that new season, but Archer is nothing if not consistent. It has released a new season every year ever since its premiere in 2009. Even during the TV shutdown that happened in 2020, there were new episodes of Archer. We can likely expect Season 13 to premiere sometime this year.
