Machine Gun Kelly Struggles with Fame in Hulu’s ‘Life in Pink’ Trailer

Machine Gun Kelly is following in the footsteps of Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Bieber, revealing the ins and outs of rock star life with an upcoming documentary about himself, titled Life in Pink. Hulu dropped the first look at the film today with a raw trailer giving glimpses at the “Emo Girl” musician’s strained relationship with his father, public romance with Megan Fox, and polarizing role in the pop-punk revival.

The first look at Life in Pink opens with Kelly saying in a voiceover, “My life wasn’t always like this. I just don’t think anyone saw me coming,” before it transitions from glamorous shots of stage performances to Kelly walking by himself in a suburban neighborhood, giving the camera crew a tour of where he grew up.

Today’s trailer also briefly mentions Kelly’s experience being kicked out of his home and how the painful experience helped shape his own music. While Life in Pink appears to include plenty about Kelly’s early life, it also doesn’t shy from his current place in the music industry, where he has equal numbers of fans and detractors. At one point in the trailer, a dejected Kelly laments, “It feels like the world hates me.”

While Kelly is clearly the focus of the film, he pulls in some famous friends, too, including collaborator and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who appears in today’s trailer, and Fox, Kelly’s fiancée.

The official synopsis for Life in Pink reads: “Machine Gun Kelly’s Life In Pink is an in-depth look at the dramatic highs and lows of an artist chasing music’s top spot while tackling noise from the outside world, stardom, fatherhood and more. From creating his platinum-selling, Billboard No. 1 album ‘Tickets to My Downfall,’ to his most recent No. 1 studio album, ‘Mainstream Sellout,’ this is an all-access pass, that goes beyond the headlines, into the chaotic world of Machine Gun Kelly.”

Life in Pink is coming soon to Hulu. Watch the full trailer in the video above.
