Al Pacino Wants Timotheè Chalamet to Play Him in Potential ‘Heat’ Sequel: “Great Looks”

Good looks in Hollywood can always take you far… But a good head of hair can take you further. And legendary actor Al Pacino has one man in mind to play him for a potential Heat sequel: Timothée Chalamet.

During a Tribeca Film Festival Q&A panel with the cast celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1995 movie, the talk turned to the upcoming novel Heat 2, by director Michael Mann. And of course, the Scarface star was asked who could play his role of Lt. Hanna if the novel were made into a movie.

With no hesitation, Pacino replied, “Timothée Chalamet … I mean, he’s a wonderful actor. Great looks.”

The upcoming novel will follow the life of “master criminal” Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro) and Lt. Hanna both before the events of the first film — and after. Meaning that potentially if a film sequel happens, you could get De Niro and Pacino back in their iconic roles, as well as Chalamet and, I don’t know… Glen Powell? He’s pretty hot right now.

However, Pacino’s wish for Chalamet to star may not come true: the actor has four projects currently in the works, ranging from working with Kid Cudi on his animated Netflix series as a voice actor in Entergalactic and reprising his lead role for the fantasy epic Dune 2; as well as a golden ticket for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel Wonka, playing the mysterious candy man of the title.

“It’s been my intention for a long time to do the further stories of Heat,” Mann told Deadline;. “There was always a rich history or backstory about the events in these people’s lives before 1995 in Heat and projection of where their lives would take them after.”

The book will be released this summer in bookstores everywhere.
