‘Unprecedented’ Trailer Hints at Unreal Access to the Trumps, “The Most Controversial Family in the World”

The very first trailer for Alex Holder’s Trump family documentary has dropped, and it’s as deranged as you could imagine. The glimpse at Unprecedented, an upcoming three-part series about former President Donald Trump and his children, was released today by Politico.

In the two minute-plus clip, the former president, along with Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, sit for interviews with Holder and his team. Snippets of their conversations are interspersed with footage from the campaign trail, including moments where Ivanka calls her father “the people’s president” and Don Jr. vows to “make liberals cry again.”

In between cuts of Ivanka asking about how her dress looks on camera and Jared Kushner asking if his tie is in the correct spot, Trump agonizes over where a table and a glass of water should sit in his shoot, directing an offscreen presence to move it away, then put it back and rearrange it multiple times.

Unprecedented shows some of the darkest moments of the Trump presidency, as well, including events leading up to the Jan. 6 insurrection and footage from the violent day itself, with Trump supporters yelling, attacking police and storming the Capitol.

At one point, Trump tells a crowd, “Let’s walk down Pennsylvania Avenue,” while in another, his son Eric says into the phone, “for the sake of the country, we’re going to get these guys.”

Some of the footage from Holder’s docuseries was even handed over to the Jan. 6 committee, which reviewed it while gathering evidence to show that Trump wanted to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Holder also testified to the committee last month, but his comments were heard behind closed doors.

Discovery+ shared last month that they had purchased Unprecedented, promising at the time that the series features “never-before-seen footage of the Trump family on the campaign trail and their reactions to the outcome of the election,” per The Hollywood Reporter.

Unprecedented premieres on Discovery+ this summer. Watch the full trailer in the video above.
