'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' Comes to Digital, But When Will 'Furiosa' Stream on Max?

Everybody’s favorite Norse god is back in Thor: Love and Thunder, which opens in theaters this weekend.

Starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor himself, this will be the fourth standalone Thor film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Taika Waititi, who helmed the most recent Thor: Ragnarok film, is back once again to direct, with a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. And Waititi isn’t the only one who’s back—Natalie Portman is returning to reprise her role from the first Thor movie. Only this time, Jane has a hammer, too.

Also starring Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Waititi, and Russell Crowe, Thor: Love and Thunder promises more of the wacky fun viewers got from Ragnarok. WHERE TO WATCH THOR LOVE AND THUNDER:

For now, the only place to watch Thor: Love and Thunder is in a movie theater when it opens on July 8. It is not yet available on streaming. You can find a showtime at a movie theater near you here.

After the movie’s theatrical run, you will be able to watch Thor: Love and Thunder free on Disney+. You will also be able to purchase the movie on digital platforms like Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, and more.

WHEN WILL THOR LOVE AND BE STREAMING ON DISNEY PLUS?

Though an official streaming release date has not been announced, we can guess that Thor: Love and Thunder will be available to buy and rent on digital platforms, as well as streaming free on Disney+, after either 45 days or 70 days in theaters, depending on how well it does at the box office.

The last Marvel release, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, had a 45-day exclusive run in theaters and then became available to stream for free on Disney+. However, Eternals—which opened in theaters on November 5 and became available to purchase on digital and free on Disney+ on January 12—had a theatrical run of 70 days, twice as long as Doctor Strange. It seems likely that given the hype around Thor, Disney will want to keep the movie in theaters for longer, meaning you may have to wait until September 2022 to watch Thor on Disney+.

WILL THOR LOVE AND THUNDER BE ON HBO MAX?

No. Thor: Love and Thunder is a Disney movie and not a Warner Bros. movie, and therefore will not be on HBO Max at the same time it is in theaters. More than that, HBO Max will no longer be streaming theatrical movies in 2022. Last year, Warner Media opted to simultaneously release its theatrical slate on streaming, meaning HBO Max subscribers could watch movies like Matrix Resurrections at home. This year, however, Warner Bros. theatrical movies will have a 45-day theaters-only run before moving to HBO Max.

IS THOR LOVE AND THUNDER STREAMING ON NETFLIX?

No. Thor: Love and Thunder is not streaming on Netflix and likely will never be streaming on Netflix, due to the fact that it will be streaming on Disney+ after its theatrical run. Sorry!
