‘101 Places to Party Before You Die’ Exclusive: Would You Eat at a Mortuary?

If you’re going to kick off a show called 101 Places to Party Before You Die, you gotta start at the end, right? And that’s exactly what stars Adam Pally and Jon Gabrus do in the first episode of TruTV’s new travel show, which premieres Thursday, as they visit a Denver mortuary… That’s been turned into a restaurant.

In Decider’s exclusive clip from the premiere, Pally and Gabrus are planning to party as hard as they can over 48 hours in the Mile High City, kicking things off with a visit to Linger Eatuary. As noted in the clip, back in the day the mortuary planned nearly half of Denver’s funerals — but the newly minted travel hosts are about to put the “fun” in funeral, as Gabrus quips, “Yeah, get ready to plan two more.”

The meal kicks off with drinks, and the duo laughing and joking about the location… But the kicker reveals just how hilariously dark the humor gets in this series. I won’t spoil the joke, but it starts with Gabrus licking the pure black pepper off the side of his drink, noting it looks like the ash you might get from cremation, and only heightens from there. And by the end, Pally is laughing so hard he nearly can’t breath because of Denver’s elevation. Will the beginning of this cross-country trip also be the end? Will the narration’s prediction come true, and Adam Pally, star of Happy Endings and the Sonic movies, die at a mortuary???

Spoiler: probably not, but the clip is still laugh out loud funny, and only the tip of the party-berg when it comes to this outrageously raunchy travel series.

Here’s the full list of locations visited by Pally and Gabrus in the premiere, if you want to play along (or visit them yourself, before you die). And be sure to check out the full clip, above!

101 Places to Party Before You Die premieres Thursday, July 14 at 10:30pm ET/PT on TruTV.
