FX Renews ‘The Bear’ For A Second Season on Hulu

The breakout hit series of summer 2022 has just been picked up for a second season, per a press release from FX provided to Decider. The Bear‘s eight-episode first season (available now via FX or for streaming on Hulu) premiered less than a month ago, on June 23, and yet it has already taken viewers by storm enough to earn a quick renewal.

“The Bear has exceeded our wildest creative, critical and commercial expectations,” said FX Entertainment President Eric Schrier in today’s official renewal announcement statement.

The drama series, which currently boasts an impressive 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef from the world of fine dining who is abruptly forced to move home to Chicago to take over running his family sandwich shop after his brother, Mikey’s (Jon Bernthal) suicide.

In the midst of trying to come to terms with Mikey’s death, Carmy is also challenged by the sandwich shop’s change-averse and often difficult staff, his strained familial relationships, and the difficulties of running a small business.

Created by Christopher Storer and produced by FX Productions, The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Edwin Lee Gibson, and Matty Matheson. Look forward to their return in The Bear Season 2 hitting FX and streaming exclusively on Hulu in 2023.
