‘Southern Charm’: Did Shep and Taylor Break Up?

If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it.

After two-plus years of dating, Southern Charm‘s Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green have officially broken up, according to an exclusive report published by People. Neither Rose nor Green have made an official comment at this time, but the People report strongly suggests that wandering eyes and suspicious minds played a significant role in the dissolution of their relationship.

Shep has a real issue with monogamy and refused to commit to Taylor, telling her that he doesn’t want to be with just one person and change his lifestyle,” a source close to Green told People, while a second source (also likely close to Green) said that Green is “incredibly hurt, but she knows that she deserves a guy who will fight for her, not one who is so selfish.”

The monogamy issue alluded to above first came to light at the tumultous Southern Charm Season 7 reunion, during which time Shep admitted that he had been texting “an old flame” and also “kissed a girl in the stairwell,” but that he had come clean to Green and the two were working on moving past the incidents. This current season has also featured some key stress fractures in the support columns of their relationship, including one particularly tense conversation revolving around a pregnancy scare … which ended with a controversial high five.

It’s unclear at this time whether there were additional circumstances that precipitated the breakup — other than Shep’s well-documented case of cold feet — but knowing the Charmers, it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes out.
