Elisabeth Hasselbeck Proves She Pinterests Too Much After Bringing Many Props on ‘The View’

This morning marked Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s highly-anticipated return as a guest co-host on The View and let’s just say she came prepared. Like… really prepared. With props and everything. Maybe she can credit it to her time on Survivor? Or perhaps she just spends too much time on Pinterest.

The conservative host kicked off the episode by promoting her new children’s book, which felt normal. She showed the book to the audience and explained the premise. She even sent each person home with one of their own.

But flash forward a few minutes and the talk about her children’s book transitioned into a heated discussion about abortion rights. Hasselbeck’s staunch religious stance on the topic quickly created tension between her and the co-hosts — especially Whoopi Goldberg.

As the two went back and forth over the topic, Hasselbeck seemed to have come to an obvious conclusion that they would never agree on the topic, leaving her to pull out a tea towel that said, “I’d agree with you … But then we would both be wrong,” which evoked quiet yet skeptical laughter from both the panel and the audience.

It was an odd (but creative?) way to mark her return and one that easily could have just flown over our heads. Except for the fact that the towel wasn’t all she brought.

In a later segment dedicated to discussing Jill Biden’s interview with Real Simple magazine where she said she puts Post-It notes in her kitchen to let her family know how they can help out, Hasselbeck (known by Joy Behar to be a Post-It note extraordinaire) pulled out her own set of notes that she said, “Jill could use for our commander-in-chief.”

One message read, “Americans can’t afford your America,” while another said, “Gas prices hurt us.”

A third said, “Even though I did not vote for you, you have my prayers.”

With all that being said, Hasselbeck’s overabundance of props unequivocally proves that she Pinterests too much. And if you don’t agree, I refer you back to the cute hand towel with the passive-aggressive quote — an idea that can only come from the depths of Pinterest.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
