Is ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ Streaming on HBO Max or Netflix?

Before you ask your friends to play a mafia game on a remote weekend getaway, you might want to make sure you’re not in a teen slasher film first. That’s the mistake the protagonists make in Bodies Bodies Bodies, a satirical horror comedy coming to theaters this weekend.

A spiritual successor to 1996’s Scream, Bodies Bodies Bodies has too much fun with slasher movie tropes and Gen Z internet culture. Directed by Halina Reijn—with a screenplay by Sarah DeLappe and story credit for Kristen Roupenian—the film stars Amandla Stenberg as a rich teenager named Sophie, who throws a party at a remote mansion with her childhood best friend, David (Pete Davidson). She suggests a game of “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” a scarier version of Mafia. But the game ends early when a real murder takes place.

With an ensemble cast that includes Maria Bakalova, Myha’la Herrold, Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennott, and Lee Pace, Bodies Bodies Bodies promises to be your next favorite horror satire. Read on to find out where to watch Bodies Bodies Bodies and when to expect Bodies Bodies Bodies on streaming.

WHERE TO WATCH THE A24 MOVIE BODIES BODIES BODIES:

Right now, the only place to watch Bodies Bodies Bodies is in a movie theater when the film opens in theaters on August 5 in the U.S. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. After the film’s theatrical run, you’ll be able to purchase the movie on digital platforms like iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, and Vudu.

WHEN WILL THE BODIES BODIES BODIES MOVIE BE STREAMING?

The Bodies Bodies Bodies digital release date has not yet been announced. It’s hard to say when Bodies Bodies Bodies, which is an A24 release, will come to digital. But we can make an educated guess based on previous A24 releases.

One recent A24 theatrical release, Red Rocket, became available to rent for $19.99 on digital platforms after about two months—aka 45 days, which is more or less the new standard theatrical window since the pandemic—in theaters. If Bodies Bodies Bodies follows a similar release, you may be able to rent it as soon as the last week of September 2022.

That said, Everything Everywhere All At Once, another A24 release, was released on digital on June 7, which is about 70 days after its theatrical release. If Bodies Bodies Bodies follows that release strategy, you may have to wait until October before you’re able to rent Bodies Bodies Bodies for $19.99.

WILL BODIES BODIES BODIES BE STREAMING ON HBO MAX?

No. Bodies Bodies Bodies will not be on HBO Max, because it is an A24 film and not a Warner Bros. film. Also, HBO Max will no longer be streaming theatrical movies in 2022. (Last year, Warner Bros. opted to simultaneously release its theatrical slate on streaming, meaning HBO Max subscribers could watch movies like Matrix Resurrections at home. This year, however, Warner Bros. theatrical movies will have a 45-day theaters-only run before moving to HBO Max.) It’s possible that Bodies Bodies Bodies will be on HBO and HBO Max someday, but it will not be any time soon.

IS BODIES BODIES BODIES STREAMING ON NETFLIX?

No. It’s possible that Bodies Bodies Bodies will be on Netflix someday, given that the streaming service hosts a number of A24 films, including Uncut Gems. But there’s no guarantee. If you don’t want to miss the film, your best bet is to see Bodies Bodies Bodies in a movie theater or wait to rent it for $19.99.
