Sunny Hostin is sticking around at The View. The co-host will keep her seat at the Hot Topics table through Season 28 after she signed a “multimillion-dollar deal,” Variety reports. When Hostin returns to The View next year, she’ll be joined by her co-hosts Sara Haines, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, all of whom will be back for Season 26.
Hostin has been a permanent co-host on The View since 2016, where she often weighs in on current events with her legal background as a federal prosecutor. Before joining The View, she appeared on Court TV, Fox News and CNN. She is also a Senior Legal Correspondent for ABC News, the network where The View airs.
Before Hostin locked in her multi-year deal for The View, her co-hosts also signed agreements to return to the show. Goldberg, who has been on The View since 2007, signed a deal in September to stay on the show through Season 28.
Behar, who helped launch The View as an original co-host in 1997, has been on and off of the show over the years, but returned as co-host in 2015 and has been at the Hot Topics table since. According to Variety, Behar signed a three-year contract to stay on The View in May, which would also extend her tenure on the show through Season 28.
The View is expected to make a major casting announcement today when they reveal the latest permanent co-host to join Hostin, Behar, Goldberg and Haines next season. After Meghan McCain left the show at the end of Season 24, The View had been trying out different guest co-hosts to mixed results.
The show is expected to announce Alyssa Farah Griffin as co-host, but a spokesperson for The View declined to confirm or deny reports of her hiring when reached for comment by Decider. Before joining The View as a guest co-host in Season 25, Griffin worked at the Department of Defense and the Trump White House, where she served as Director of Strategic Communications.
