‘Do Revenge’ on Netflix: Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes Gang Up To Take Down Their Tormentors

Netflix has finally released the full trailer for its star-studded dark comedy, Do Revenge. The movie, whose plot gives off some serious Mean Girls vibes, stars Riverdale’s Camila Mendes and Stranger Things actress Maya Hawke as they gang up to take down each other’s high school rivals.

The trailer first shows high school it-girl Drea (Mendes) detailing the perfect life and perfect boyfriend she once had. Said boyfriend, Max, played by Euphoria star Austin Abrams, is later on described as a “fake-woke-misogynist-hypocrite,” after leaking Drea’s sex tape to the whole school and ruining her life.

Meanwhile, Eleanor (Hawke) is an awkward transfer student infuriated by the fact that she has to attend school with her former bully, Carissa, played by Love, Victor star Ava Capri. When the two were 13, Carissa started a nasty rumor, telling everyone Eleanor tried to hold her down and kiss her.

When Drea and Eleanor run into each other at tennis camp, the unlikely duo decides to secretly team up and exact revenge on those who wronged them.

“I don’t want to make her pay,” Hawke tells Mendes in the trailer. “I want to burn her to the ground.”

Do Revenge is described by Netflix as a “subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.”

The movie also stars Rish Shah (Ms. Marvel), Talia Ryder, Jonathan Daviss (Outer Banks), Maia Reficco (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Paris Berelc (Alexa & Katie), Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why), and Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones). Further, it is co-written by Celeste Ballard and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

Do Revenge is set to premiere Sept. 16 on Netflix. Check out the full trailer above.
