Eddie Deezen, Actor Known for ‘Grease’ and ‘Punky Brewster,’ Declared Not Competent for Trial in Assault Case

Eddie Deezen, an actor best known for his role in Grease and its sequel, Grease 2, has been deemed unfit to stand trial after allegedly breaking into and burglarizing a nursing home. Deezen is considered a danger to himself and those around him, according to a commitment order obtained by TMZ.

He is currently at the Maryland Department of Health, where he is being treated for an unspecified mental disorder and will stay until he’s deemed fit for release by a court, TMZ reports.

Deezen was arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary, two counts of trespassing and one count of disturbing the peace in April after the nursing home incident, in which he trespassed at a privately owned facility.

He allegedly “pushed his way inside” the facility and refused to leave until police arrived and arrested him, TMZ reported at the time. Deezen had allegedly stopped by the residence multiple times before, and had left items and notes there.

In their latest report, TMZ states that Deezen’s charges have been reduced; he is now facing assault and disorderly conduct charges.

While Deezen is best recognized for his role as Eugene Felsnic in two Grease films, his acting career spans beyond the movie musical and its sequel. Following the success of Grease, Deezen appeared in mulitple shows and films throughout the ’80s, including The Facts of LifeWarGames, Magnum, P.I., Punky Brewster and Beverly Hills Vamp

He later worked on animated projects, lending his voice to Johnny Bravo, Recess, Dexter’s Laboratory, What’s New, Scooby Doo? and Kim Possible. His most recent role on IMDb is an appearance in this year’s Bijuu Mike, a TV series in which he plays The Hungry Pumpkin.
