Who Is Tre Watson on ‘Love Island USA’ and Which NFL Teams Did He Play For?

Love Island‘s Tre Watson… Not only is he fit as hell, he’s a former NFL player and he works with kids. Come on, does it get any more perfect than that? Not according to Love Island USA Season 4, which finally swung open the doors to Casa Amor on last night’s (August 8) episode.

For those not familiar with Love Island‘s Casa Amor, the much-anticipated event sees all of the islanders thrown into close quarters with a bunch of brand new singles as they are forced to go through the most extreme romantic endurance test imaginable. Even if they think they’ve found the one, it’s hard to resist the hotties that the producers pulled for this stunt.

Tre is the first of assuredly many Casa Amor additions to stand out from the bunch, so let’s take the time right now to get to know the guy.

Who is Tre on Love Island?

Tre Watson is a 26-year-old former NFL player from Corona, California. He currently lives in Anaheim where he’s the CEO of a sports development academy that helps train kids to play football. Now he’s on Love Island USA Season 4 and he’s got his eyes set on Zeta — oh, wait, no, Nadjha. Okay, he says in his intro that he’s aiming to steal Zeta away from Timmy, but he gets really close to Nadjha upon entering the villa. Tre tells Nadjha that he’s “trying to find somebody to connect and grow and build empire with.” Honestly this is probably the safer route and surer bet since Nadjha’s not super close to her current man, Jeff. Timmy and Zeta have already been through the wringer!

What NFL teams did Tre Watson play on?

After playing football for University of California, Berkeley and University of Texas, Tre was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers and then traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. But Tre’s time in the NFL was cut short when he suffered a career-ending injury.

With his NFL dreams over, Tre created some new goals by starting his business, Legacy Athletic Training. Through his training camp, Tre helps kids hone their skills on the gridiron. Tre, for example, runs the runningback training clinic on a near daily basis. But, uh, some news if you’ve signed up for training this week: Tre’s not going to be there, because he’s on Love Island right now.
