WHO’S THAT GAL: Chanté Adams

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Adams plays one of the main roles of Maxine “Max” Chapman in upcoming Amazon Prime Video Original title A League of Their Own, which premieres on the platform this Friday, on August 12. Adapted from the beloved classic 1992 film of the same name, this sports comedy-drama series highlights the highs and lows of the women’s professional baseball league that formed during World War II and its personnel as they fight to keep it all going through tough games, sexual awakenings and discrimination, bad injuries, and an ever-changing United States constantly affected by the nation’s involvement in the war.

In addition to Adams, A League of Their Own stars Abbi Jacobson, D’Arcy Carden, Roberta Colindrez, Kelly McCormack, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Priscilla Delgado, and Nick Offerman. Check out their great work in this home run of a new title as soon as it drops this week, only on Amazon Prime Video.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Adams’ professional onscreen career began in 2013 when she played Tamara in an episode of comedy series Redwood Time before starring as Aevin in dramatic short film Love Is a Growing Up just two years later. From there, the actress hit her stride with an impressive string of roles in feature films like 2017 musical-drama Roxanne Roxanne, 2018 drama Monsters and Men, 2018 comedy Good Girls Get High, 2020 satirical horror-comedy Bad Hair, and 2020 romantic-drama The Photograph. Most recently, Adams has made a name for herself by playing Phoebe in 2021 sci-fi film Voyagers and starring as Dana Canedy in 2021 drama film A Journal for Jordan. She’s only got more awesomeness to look forward to from here, so be sure to keep an eye out for the many more successes and opportunities she’s sure to have on the horizon in the years to come!

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Luckily, you won’t have to wait too much longer to see more from Adams, as the actress already has a project that’s currently filming and set to come out within the next year or two. Look out for Adams as Jill Hensley in upcoming Netflix Original drama miniseries A Man in Full, which follows an Atlanta real estate mogul attempting to defend his empire from those attempting to make the most of his fall from grace after he suddenly goes bankrupt. In addition to Adams, the show will feature Jeff Daniels, William Jackson Harper, Diane Lane, and Tom Pelphrey.
