“Billionaires Shouldn’t Exist”: Maya Rudolph Has an Epiphany in Exclusive ‘Loot’ Clip

The Loot Season 1 finale is almost here, and our girl Molly Wells has an important announcement: “Billionaires shouldn’t exist.”

Episode 10 of the Apple TV+ comedy, “The Silver Moon Summit,” drops on August 12, but if you can’t wait another second for more Maya Rudolph, we’ve got you covered with an exclusive finale clip. The description for Loot‘s tenth episode reads, “At the Silver Moon Summit in Corsica, Molly must make a choice between her past and her future,” and we seriously hope she chooses her future.

If you recall, Molly (Rudolph) agreed to help her wealthy new man Jean-Pierre Voland (Olivier Martinez) present his Arroyo Water Purification Machine at the summit, however, the above clip shows her doing her own thing. Though we can’t say what exactly inspired the bold, brilliant, quite frankly badass speech above, Molly clearly has some sort of epiphany in Corsica.

“We’ve heard a lot about magic water machines and robot houses, but these aren’t solutions, they’re distractions,” she tells a crowd of people, including her colleagues. “I mean, look at who’s on stage right now. It’s me and two other billionaires. We’re probably the worst people to be talking about changing the world. Why would we want to change a system that lets us live like kings? That’s why we have these stupid conferences where all we do is talk to each other. If we actually stopped to listen to someone who wasn’t in our bubble they’d tell us that we are the problem.”

“Billionaires shouldn’t exist. I shouldn’t exist,” Molly continues. “I’m grateful that I’ve gotten to know a few people who have been telling me this for a while now, and I think I’m finally starting to hear them.”

Though we’ll have to wait until the finale streams on Friday to learn what led to this iconic monologue, at least we have the soothing sounds of Maya Rudolph’s voice saying, “Billionaires shouldn’t exist,” to keep us company.
