'Tales of The Walking Dead': Danny Ramirez Breaks Down The Haunting "La Doña"
This week, you’re going to get to meet some brand new characters in The Walking Dead universe — but with some familiar faces. The first episode of Tales Of The Walking Dead, which is already available to AMC+ subscribers and officially premieres Sunday at 9/8c on AMC, features two people named Joe and Evie. But to TV fans, you probably know them better as Terry Crews and Olivia Munn. And even better news, we’ve got an exclusive clip from the episode, right here, right now.
In the new look, Joe (Crews) is bound, sitting next to a campfire, as Evie (Munn) rifles through his belongs. He’s understandably upset, and asks her, “What the hell are you doing?”
“Seeing who you are,” Evie says as she pulls things out of his knapsack. “Very prepared.”
Evie goes on to explain over Joe’s protests that, “You want me to trust you. People only carry important things now.”
…and that’s when Crews, known for his family-friendly persona on shows like Brooklyn-99 and America’s Got Talent, says something you’d never expect Terry Crews to say: “Put that away, you nosey bitch.”
Undeterred, Evie reads a note stashed away inside his bag, and seems surprised to find that underneath Joe’s muscly exterior (and mild potty-mouth) lies the soul of a poet. But even with that revelation, he’s not ready to open up to her. At least, not yet.
You can watch the rest of the scene above, as well as reading our interview with showrunner Channing Powell to find out more about the new anthology series (as well as some more thoughts on Crews’ character in particular).
Tales of the Walking Dead premieres Sunday, August 14 at 9/8c on AMC. The premiere is currently streaming early on AMC+, with subsequent new episodes premiering a week early on AMC+ on Sundays.
