‘Selling Sunset’s Iconic Villain Christine Quinn is Leaving The Show Ahead of Season 6

Selling Sunset is saying goodbye to a crucial cast member. According to production sources, Christine Quinn will not be returning for the show’s sixth and seventh seasons in which production began this summer, per TMZ.

Quinn, instead, will shift her focus to other ventures, such as her own brokerage, RealOpen, which allows you to buy and sell real estate through cryptocurrency. Sources also told the outlet she recently signed with IMG Models and is already booking gigs at fashion events.

Things were a little rocky toward the end of Season 5 when co-star Emma Hernan accused the Quinn of bribing a client with $5,000 to stop working with her, something she has denied.

“Accusing someone of a criminal tort is not only defamatory — but you can’t afford my lawyers,” Quinn told People back in May. “So it’s not a funny thing to say. I would never bribe a client. I’ve never bribed a client. I don’t need to bribe a client, because they’ll work with me organically.”

Quinn, who has been the center of several feuds during her run on the show, ultimately skipped out on the Season 5 reunion because she tested positive for COVID-19. However, rumors swirled that she faked the diagnosis since fans noticed she was filming a commercial just days later. Later on, she told Andy Cohen that she “absolutely did have COVID” on an episode of Watch What Happens Live.

Selling Sunset quickly gained traction on Netflix when it first premiered in 2019. The show follows elite real estate brokers — Quinn, Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae Young, Maya Vander, Amanza Smith, and Davina Potratz — at the Los Angeles-based Oppenheim Group and the drama that entangles them.

The show did so well that it garnered two spinoff series — Selling Tampawhich premiered its first season in late 2021, and the upcoming series Selling the OCwhich focuses on the Oppenheim Group’s Orange County office. The new spinoff is set to premiere on Netflix Aug. 24.
