‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ Is Getting The Spinoff Nobody Asked For

If you’ve seen the 1986 John Hughes film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, you’ll remember the two valet guys who stole Cameron’s Dad’s Ferrari and took it for a joyride while Cameron, Ferris and Sloane were galivanting around Downtown Chicago.

Well, Paramount Pictures is developing a spinoff that nobody asked for titled Sam and Victor’s Day Off from Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald.

Written by Bill Posley, Sam and Victor’s Day Off will follow the valets on their adventures that day to finally reveal where they went according to Deadline.

In the original film, which starred Matthew Broderick, the valet attendants were not given official names. They were played by Richard Edson and Larry “Flash” Jenkins, who died in 2019.

Paul Young (Key & Peele) is producing via his Make Good Content banner with Devon Young overseeing the project and Stephen Cedars, Benji Kleiman, and Scott Yacyshyn serving as associate producers.

Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Heald are producing under their Counterbalance Entertainment banner with their head of development Dina Hillier serving as an executive producer.

The trio is perhaps best known as the creators, executive producers, and showrunners of Netflix’s Emmy-nominated hit series, Cobra Kai, which was also a reimagining of a classic 80’s film (The Karate Kid).
