Gary Busey Charged With Criminal Sexual Contact In New Jersey

Actor Gary Busey has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree while attending the Monster-Mania Convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Busey was at the Doubletree Hotel for the event, which took place from August 12 to August 14.

Cherry Hill police responded to a report of a sex offense while the event was taking place at the Doubletree Hotel. After an initial investigation, detectives charged the 78-year-old actor on four offenses: two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, one count of attempting criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree and one disorderly conduct count of harassment.

The Cherry Hill Police Department distributed a press release about the incident on Saturday afternoon but have declined to provide further details at this time. They maintain that the investigation remains ongoing.

Busey was booked as a guest for the semi-annual horror-themed event in Cherry Hill, an event that he has appeared at before. Prior to the incident, the actor had been seen speaking to attendees and appearing in several photographs shared by fans on social media. Per the convention’s program, the actor was to appear in the Autograph Room, along with other actors like Ralph Macchio, Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright.

Representatives for Busey were not immediately available for comment. Busey resides in Malibu, California, where he has likely returned although it is unclear.
