Mark Wahlberg Dishes on His NSFW Scene in ‘Me Time’ on ‘Kelly and Ryan’: Kevin Hart “Got Me to Appear Naked”

Mark Wahlberg is baring all (literally) in the new Netflix comedy Me TimeThe actor stopped by Live with Kelly and Ryan this morning to talk about his latest role alongside Kevin Hart, his NSFW first scene, and what made him accept the part.

When host Kelly Ripa pointed out that Wahlberg and Hart had never starred in a movie together before, Wahlberg revealed that the duo had been trying to work with one another for a while.

“It was so funny because he kept approaching me about doing something together,” Wahlberg said. “I sent him a bunch of different ideas and stuff and then he kind of finagled me into doing a movie that he was already producing.”

He continued, “Basically he got me to appear naked in the first scene, well I have shoes on, but everything else.”

Ripa jokingly chimed in with, “I hear no problems yet,” before co-host Ryan Seacrest asked what the pitch was like.

“It was just such a funny idea,” Wahlberg admitted.

His character, Huck, is a 44-year-old man who “never wanted to grow up,” according to the actor. Hart, on the other hand, plays stay-at-home-dad Sonny, who, for the first time in years, enjoys his first “me-time” while his wife and kids are away. When Huck invites his old friend to his birthday party, things get out of control, or as Wahlberg put it on the talk show, “I ruin his whole entire life.”

When it comes to drama or comedies, Wahlberg said he prefers “the complete opposite of the last thing I did,” adding that when he began filming Me Time, he had just finished Father Stu, which is about an ex-boxer who decided to become a Catholic priest.

Live With Kelly and Ryan airs weekdays at 9 a.m. ET on ABC, and Me Time is dropping Aug. 26 on Netflix.
