Whoopi Goldberg Calls ‘The View’ Co-Hosts the “Gutsiest Women on TV” During Season 26 Teaser

The countdown is officially on as The View shared a new teaser for their upcoming Season 26, which is set to return next month with “new views” and “new co-hosts.”

Over the montage of clips featuring the women shooting promo photos and eating The View-decorated cupcakes, Whoopi Goldberg can be heard saying, “This is actually a family,” referring to her fellow panelists Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and newly-announced co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.

She added, “The women of The View are the gutsiest women on TV,” before Behar’s voiceover later warned, “This is The View so watch out.”

The talk show, which was first created by Barbara Walters in 1997, went on hiatus earlier this month, ending their 25th season with the announcement that Griffin and Navarro would be taking over for Meghan McCain’s seat when the show returned. McCain left her co-hosting gig in August 2021, resulting in a revolving door of conservative guest hosts over the last year.

During the live announcement, Griffin, who previously worked under the Trump administration before becoming a political commentator on CNN and has since gotten backlash for joining The View, said, “I’m here to join this table and hopefully bring a new perspective. I’m so excited for it. I’m ready for it.” She later told People“I learned a lot from [working under Trump]. I walked away committed to the feeling in my bones that I want to be part of solutions, not add to the division.”

Navarro, who frequently fills in on the show, is another anti-Trump conservative. She told the outlet, “When you make the decision to be on TV, you need to know who you are, know what you believe in, and you need to be able to defend it with conviction because you’re going to be challenged.”

The View returns Sept. 6 at 11/10c on ABC.
