Patrick Warburton Made a Surprise Appearance on ‘The Bachelorette’ as Zach Shallcross’ Uncle

A surprise celebrity guest appeared on Monday’s episode of The Bachelorette, and in a twist, he wasn’t hired by the show.
Actor Patrick Warburton just so happens to be the uncle of Bachelorette contestant Zach Shallcross, one of Rachel Recchia’s final four men. So in the spirit of Hometown dates, which aired on August 22, Warburton spent a night on the couch with his family meeting Rachel, supporting his nephew’s search for love, and delighting viewers at home who are fans of his work.

Warburton got a very chill introduction from Shallcross, who explained Rachel would be meeting his mom, dad, sister, aunt and “Uncle Pat — I mean he’s just as funny as he is in his shows and movies.” While he didn’t get much screen time during the Hometown date (a crime), he did get a hilarious end credits scene with Rachel, which shows the two of them having one of the most interesting conversations of the season. Warburton cracks some jokes, tells Rachel he flunked out of junior college, and ends the conversation with a high five. Take notes, guys.

Fans of Seinfeld, Less Than Perfect, Rules of Engagement, and more likely recognized Uncle Pat at first glance, but if you’re unfamiliar with Warburton’s work, Shallcross’ vague description wasn’t very helpful. So who is Zach’s uncle, Patrick Warburton? We’ve got you covered.

Who is Patrick Warburton, Zach Shallcross’ uncle on The Bachelorette?

Warburton has been racking up credits on his IMDb page since 1986, but he’s best known for his role as David Puddy on Seinfeld. Some other noteworthy roles include playing the titular character on the 2001 series The Tick, as well as Jeb Denton on Less Than Perfect, Jeff Bingham on Rules of Engagement, Lemony Snicket in 2017’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, and General Dabney Shramm on Netflix’s Space Force.

Is Zach Shallcross One of Rachel’s Final Two Guys?

While we have yet to see Aven’s Hometown date, which will air during the August 29 Men Tell All special, Rachel and Zach really hit it off during Hometowns and he’s likely headed to the Fantasy Suites. Zach’s family, including Uncle Pat, were huge fans of Rachel, and Zach ended the night by telling Rachel he loves her. Huge!
