Everything We Know About ‘Rick and Morty’ Season 6

Once upon a time in the not-so-distant past, fans had to wait years between seasons of Rick and Morty. Those dark days are over. Rick and Morty is returning with a brand-new season, nearly one year after Season 5 concluded — proving that the future can have nice things too.

We know you have questions about this upcoming season, and we’re here to help. From episode titles to premiere dates, here’s everything we currently know about Rick and Morty Season 6 on Adult Swim and HBO Max.

When Will Rick and Morty Season 6 Premiere?

Your Labor Day plans just changed. This Sunday, September 4, marks the Season 6 premiere of Rick and Morty. The fun starts on Adult Swim at 11/10c p.m. That’s a global premiere date, by the way, so no matter where you are in this universe you can start watching at the same time.

Where Can I Watch Rick and Morty?

All episodes are currently available to stream on Hulu and HBO Max. Also, if this is anything like last season, new episodes are expected to be available to stream on both the day after they premiere on Adult Swim.

How Many Episodes Are in Rick and Morty Season 6?

Just like in seasons past, there will be 10 episodes. That means we’ll be watching classic Rick and Morty adventures from now until November.

What Are the Episode Titles for Rick and Morty Season 6?

We’re so happy you asked because they are ridiculous. Here they are in no particular order:

  • “Bethic Twinstinct”
  • “Ricktional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation”
  • “Full Meta Jackrick”
  • “Final Destination”
  • “Rick: A Mort Well Lived”
  • “Night Family”
  • “A Rick in King Mortur’s Mort”
  • “Solaricks”
  • “Analyze Piss”
  • “Juricksic Mort”

Based on those titles, it seems like we’ll be getting parodies about Full Metal Jacket, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Analyze This. All of this is excellent. But perhaps what’s most interesting is “Juricksic Mort.” Season 1 already gave us a Jurassic Park parody thanks to “Anatomy Park.” Does that mean we’ll see the return of Annie (Jackie Buscarino), the woman Rick left in charge of creating yet another human-based theme park? Only time will tell.

Who’s in Rick and Morty’s Cast?

All of the usuals are back. This season stars Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty), Spencer Grammer (Summer), Sarah Chalke (Beth), and Chris Parnell (Jerry). Be sure to keep your ears peeled for any recognizable voices. If there’s one thing Rick and Morty loves more than portal travel and chaos, it’s celebrity stunt casting.

Is There a Trailer for Rick and Morty Season 6?

There certainly is. Packed with killer robots, Wolverine claws, and jokes about Die Hard, it’s a fun one. Scroll above to check it out in all of its violent, snarky glory.

Does Rick and Morty Season 6 Have Reviews?

You know it does. Here at Decider, we’re calling it the Rickest and Mortyest season yet. Comicbook also wrote that the show is only getting better with age, and Slashfilm also gave it a positive review.

Are There Rick and Morty Spinoffs?

Though two spinoffs have been announced, only one is currently available to watch. In July, Adult Swim released the webseries The Vindicators, which explores the Vindicators 2 adventure that Rick and Morty missed.

The only other spinoff is Rick and Morty: The Anime, which was announced in May. The 10-episode series from Tower of God director Takashi Sano currently doesn’t have a premiere date.

How Did Rick and Morty Season 5 End?

Typically, you can jump into a new season of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s sci-fi comedy without having to play catch-up. But last season was unlike anything this show has ever seen. Spoilers ahead.

“Rickmurai Jack” finally revealed our Rick’s crybaby backstory. Just like “The Rickshank Rickdemption” teased in Season 3, Rick C-137 was offered the secret to portal travel but refused it so that he could stay with his wife Diane and daughter Beth. Well, the Rick that offered him that technology didn’t take rejection well. He murdered Rick’s beloved family, throwing Rick C-137 into a vengeance-fueled spiral of murder and Rick hunting. Somewhere down the line he stopped murdering everyone, constructed the Citadel of Ricks, and settled down with the Beth, Jerry, Summer, and Morty from the Cronenberg universe. That’s the super-short version of this winding epic.

But that’s not the only huge question Season 5’s finale answered. No, the other half of this lore-heavy episode had to do with Evil Morty. As Evil Morty explained, the Ricks limited the number of navigable multiverses to only those where Rick was the smartest man in the galaxy. That collection of unlimited multiverses is known as the Central Finite Curve. By completely decimating the Citadel, Evil Morty was able to break through the Central Finite Curve an explore what may be on the other side. Season 5 ended with him exiting through a gold portal, the first of its kind we’ve ever seen. Season 6 is still packed with action and silliness, but just keep these big plot points in the back of your mind.
