Can you tell the difference between Laverne Cox, star of Orange is the New Black, and Beyoncé, all-around superstar and music icon? People on Twitter sure can’t, in a move that should make you physically uncomfortable to even contemplate. Luckily, Cox took the repeated gaffe in stride, and even laughed it off as users on Twitter mistook Cox for the Alien Superstar, while attending the US Open.

In an Instagram post yesterday (August 29), Cox screencapped a tweet from @Choni_ (who we’ll assume is a fan of Riverdale‘s iconic couple Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz, aka Choni) that seemed to identify Beyoncé attending the US Open. However, it was — as mentioned in the paragraph above — Cox.

“Not me getting mistaken for @Beyonce at the #USOpen tonight then trending on Twitter as the internet cackles over the mistaken identity,” Cox wrote. “These tweets are funny as hell. Enjoy!!!”

Cox also gave a shout out to Serena Williams, calling her “#GOAT,” a term we could probably apply to all three ladies involved in this otherwise horrifically embarrassing mix-up. And in fact, Beyoncé herself has been supportive of Williams, going as far as to narrate a “For Serena Williams, With Love” ad that played during the US Open, for Gatorade.

Still, in the interest of public service, since again, Beyoncé and Laverne Cox are two extremely different looking people, please memorize the picture below. On the left? Beyoncé. On the right? Laverne Cox. Two. Different. People. Get it right, Twitter.
