Lindsay Lohan Continues Comeback with Second Netflix Movie

Lindsay Lohan is on a hot streak. After filming a holiday movie with Netflix, the actress is working on a second project with the streamer that goes back to her rom-com roots (Just My Luck, anyone?). Lohan is set to star in Irish Wish, Deadline reports, and the romance movie sounds like it has a fitting Freaky Friday twist.

Irish Wish tells the story of Maddie, a woman who travels to Ireland to be a bridesmaid at the wedding of “the love of her life” and her best friend, per Deadline’s official description. If that twisty premise isn’t enough to pull you in, the rest of the film’s logline certainly will:

“Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be. With her dream seeming to come true, Maddie soon realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely,” per Deadline.

Lohan’s latest movie marks the second project in her deal with Netflix after Falling for Christmas, her upcoming holiday movie. Both Falling for Christmas and Irish Wish come from Janeen Damian, who wrote the screenplay for the new rom-com with Kirsten Hansen, Ron Oliver and Michael Damian, per Deadline.

After some pretty tumultuous years in the mid-2000s, Lohan has been making a quiet return to Hollywood. The child star had years of hits beginning with The Parent Trap and including Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Mean Girls and Herbie Fully Loaded, but booked fewer projects in later years as she publicly struggled with personal issues.

Recently, though, Lohan has been getting back in the game, appearing in the comedy series Sick Note, starring in the horror-thriller Among the Shadows and voicing a character in the SyFy series Devil May Care.

Lohan’s most recent role was narrating the series Lovestruck High from Amazon’s Prime Video, but fans can look forward to seeing her on their screens once again in just a couple of months, when her latest movie, Falling for Christmas, hits Netflix on Nov. 10.
