Tiffany Haddish “Deeply Regrets” Role in Pedophile Sketch Named in Sexual Abuse Suit

Tiffany Haddish is breaking her silence after being accused of child sexual abuse in a bombshell lawsuit. The comedian addressed the suit on Instagram, where she told her followers she regrets participating in a 2014 sketch, Through a Pedophile’s Eyes, because of which she and Aries Spears are being accused of sexually abusing a minor.

“I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m right there with you,” Haddish wrote on Instagram Monday (Sept 5). “Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there’s very little that I can say right now. But, clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all — and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it. I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can.”

The sketch in question is one of two mentioned in the lawsuit, which was filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court. Siblings identified in the suit as Jane Doe and John Doe — who are now 22 and 15 — are suing Haddish and Spears for coercing them into filming inappropriate sketches when they were 14 and 7, respectively.

The Daily Beast, which first reported the lawsuit, viewed Through a Pedophile’s Eyes, which was posted to the website Funny or Die in 2014 before being removed from the site in 2018. The outlet reported that John is filmed in only underwear in most of the sketch, which features close shots of the boy’s “buttocks and crotch while he plays.” The bit also includes a moment in which John “plays with a train in a manner that suggests phallic masturbation,” per The Daily Beast.

Jane alleges that in her experience with Haddish and Spears, she was shown footage of two people “moaning and making sexual noises as they both ate [a] sandwich in a manner that simulated the act of fellatio,” according to the lawsuit obtained by The Daily Beast, and was told the imitate what she saw in the clip.

Jane alleges that Haddish told her “how to give fellatio, including movements, noises, moaning, and groaning” in Spears’ presence, per the suit.

Haddish’ Instagram statement marks the first time she has spoken out since the suit was filed, although her attorney shared a statement on her behalf last week blasting the “bogus” claims in the lawsuit.
