‘Special Forces: The Ultimate Test’ Features Unlikely Group of Celebrities From Jamie Lynn Spears to Kate Gosselin in “Grueling” Survival Show

Did you ever think you’d see Jamie Lynn Spears and Kate Gosselin on the same show? Neither did I. In Fox’s latest “celebrity social experiment,” Special Forces: The Ultimate Test, you will see them, along with a motley crew of other household names, come together for the brand new survival show.

As announced at today’s FOX TCA Day, In the series, 16 celebrities are coming together to endure some of the “harshest, most grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual Special Forces selection process.” The training exercises will be led by an elite team of ex-special force operatives, Rudy Reyes, Mark “Billy” Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox, and Remi Adeleke.

So how does one win? Well, unlike many challenge and competition shows, there is no voting and there is no elimination. The only way for contestants to leave is to give up on their own, failure or “potential” injury, or to be forced out by the leaders.

The series’ first season will feature TV personalities like Gosselin (Kate Plus 8), Kenya Moore (Real Housewives of Atlanta), Dr. Drew Pinsky, Hannah Brown (The Bachelorette), Tyler Florence (Tyler’s Ultimate), as well as actors like Spears (Zoey 101and Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven). Musicians such as Mel. B and Montell Jordan, along with financier Anthony Scaramucci will also compete.

To make things more interesting (and slightly unfair) several athletes will join, including NBA player Dwight Howard, MLB star Mike Piazza, and Super Bowl winner Danny Amendola. Plus, Olympic medalists Gus Kenworthy, Nastia Liukin, and Carli Lloyd will go up against the rest of the team.

Special Forces: The Ultimate Test puts celebrities you know and love through the most pure and authentic test of endurance that I have ever seen. In many ways, it is more about mental strength than physical strength,” Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment and specials, said in a press release provided to Decider. “It’s an eye-opening glimpse into the most intense training in the world and gives a taste of the grit and bravery our armed forces show on a daily basis, which was a life-changing experience for these celebrities.”

While this unlikely crowd gears up for what will be one of the most difficult challenges of their lives, we’ll just have to wait until January 2023 to find out who has what it takes.

But wait, that’s not all!
