Alyssa Farah Griffin Says Alleged Olivia Wilde and Miss Flo Feud Has “More Drama Than the Trump West Wing” on ‘The View’

The Miss Flo drama has officially made it to The View; and even though some of the ladies were not up to date on the latest Don’t Worry Darling tea (cough, cough Joy), Alyssa Farah Griffin was quick to equate the scandal to her former workplace under the Trump administration.

Whoopi Goldberg introduced the segment, discussing the recent buzz around director Olivia Wilde’s handling of Shia LaBeouf, who was originally cast as Don’t Worry Darling’s leading man before Harry Styles took over. Goldberg immediately turned it over to the panel, asking, “What the hell am I talking about?”

Co-host Sunny Hostin was skeptical of Wilde and the string of scandals coming from her movie including her claims that she fired LaBeouf for bad behavior, despite him releasing a video of the director convincing him to stay, her romantic involvement with Styles, and the allegations that he was paid more than Florence Pugh.

“I start to think, ‘Well now you’re taking on the qualities of the toxic masculinity that we’ve been fighting for so long,'” Hostin said.

Joy Behar, who later on incorrectly pronounced LaBeouf’s first name as “Shee-a” and also revealed that she wasn’t as well-rounded on the topic as she is on her politics, defended Wilde, adding, “First of all, the director does not decide the salaries, the producer decides the salaries. She may have nothing to do with that. Number two: sleeping with your co-star, that’s been going on with men since silent movies.”

However, Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out that Wilde calling Pugh, an Oscar-nominated actress, Miss Flo, was “condescending” and “not elevating your female star.”

“One thing that Florence Pugh came out and said was that she felt like the trailer, like, overly-sexualized her,” Griffin said. “She knew she signed up for a sexual role but I think she thought that having a female director, she’d feel more protected.”

She joked, “I don’t know, there’s more drama here than the Trump west wing and I am very intrigued by it.”

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
