Did ‘Ozark’ Win a 2022 Emmy?

Ozark‘s final episode may have ended on a depressing note for Ruth Langmore, but on the awards front, it resulted in a great night for Julia Garner. During the 7th Primetime Emmy Awards, the actor took home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, marking the third time Garner has walked away with this particular award.

Ozark winning any award is an impressive feat. Between Better Call Saul, Succession, Severance, and Squid Game, this past year has been an especially remarkable one for television. But just how many Emmys has Ozark won over its four seasons? We know you have questions, and we have answers.

Garner’s win wasn’t a complete shock. After all, she’s won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series all three times she’s been nominated. What is surprising is that Garner was able to hold onto the title with such fierce competition.

In addition to Garner, Patricia Arquette (Severance), J. Smith-Cameron (Succession), Sarah Snook (Succession), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets), and HoYeon Jung (Squid Game) were all nominated for the category. Each one of these supremely talented actors had a good argument for why they should bring home the trophy. Better Call Saul and specifically Seehorn’s performance have earned the reputation for being the best of what TV has to offer. Succession, Euphoria, Severance, and Squid Game rank among the best and most discussed shows of the year. And Yellowjackets is simply great. But at the end of the day it was the self-destructive Ruth Langmore that earned Garner her third Emmy.
