‘SNL’ Adds ‘Big Mouth’ Writer, ‘A League of Their Own’ Actor, and More to Season 48

Just days after Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels hinted at four new cast members for Season 48, the long-running sketch comedy show has announced the names of those mystery actors.

First on the list is Marcello Hernandez, a Cuban/Dominican comedian, writer, and actor who has opened up for comedians like Tim Dillon, Jim Breuer, Mark Viera, and Gilbert Gottfried, according to his website. Aside from his stand-up gig, he is a host and creative director of Only in DADE, an Instagram account with more than 900,000 followers, where he has interviewed celebrities like Floyd Mayweather and Ray J. The new SNL member has also appeared on Telemundo’s Acceso Total and NBC’s 6 in the Mix, a Miami-based lifestyle and entertainment show.

Some may recognize this other new addition, Molly Kearney, who recently starred as Fran Dannely in the Prime Video series A League of Their Own. Aside from their gig on the show, Kearney also acts in the Los Angeles-based comedy show, The Big One.

Michael Longfellow, who describes himself as a “comedian, actor, writer, and stepson,” gained notoriety with his “Mom’s Boyfriend” and “Stepson” skits. The new SNL member was “one of eight comedians chosen for the inaugural ‘Netflix Introducing…’ next stars of comedy showcase at the Netflix is a Joke festival,” according to his site. He also made appearances on CONAN and NBC’s comedy talent series Bring the Funny.

Last, but certainly not least, is Devon Walker, who already has some professional credits as a writer on the Freeform comedy series Everything’s Trash as well as Netflix’s animated sitcom Big MouthHe has also acted in the Comedy Central series Mini-Mocks and As Seen on CC.

After losing seven crucial members at the end of Season 47, including Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon, SNL is going to need all the funny they can get. And we can’t wait to see what these new recruits will bring to the stage when the show premieres on Oct. 1.
