Will ‘Industry’ Get Renewed for Season 3 by HBO?

It’s hard to think of a show more stressful than HBO‘s Industry. Every episode is a whirlwind of possibly illegal deals, back stabbings, double crossings, and deeply cruel insults as this green group of financial gurus attempt to navigate the cutthroat world of Pierpoint & Co. You may not chip a tooth while stress chewing gum, but you’ll probably come close.

It’s that degree of tension that makes Industry such an addictive show. Wondering if there will be more episodes? This is what we know so far.

Is Industry Season 3 Happening?

HBO has yet to announce if there’s going to be another season of this financial drama or if we’ll have to say goodbye to Harper (Myha’la Herrold) and the gang. And between us, things aren’t looking great for this show’s future. Industry was renewed for a second season roughly three weeks before its Season 1 finale. As we head into the finale, we’ve heard nothing about its future. Then there are the ratings to consider. Industry’s broadcast numbers never went above 0.145. It’s possible that this drama is simply a bigger hit on streaming, but based on the information we have, it seems as though this stressful drama has been flying under the radar.

But this isn’t exactly the final nail in the coffin. Typically, streaming services like to wait a couple of weeks to a month before they announce renewal statuses. In the wake of the Warner Bros. and Discovery merger, it could just be that the TV powers-that-be are still sorting through data before they make a decision.

When Will Industry Season 3 Premiere?

If there is a third season, it will likely premiere sometime in 2023 or 2024. Industry is in a bit of a weird position. The series premiered on HBO in 2020, but it didn’t air its second season until two years later. Whether it takes two years to make a new season of this show or if it was a victim of COVID-19 production delays remains unclear.

What Could Happen in Industry Season 3?

Are you ready for spoilers? Because Industry ended on the biggest one it could. After securing her friendship with Mr. COVID himself, Jesse Bloom (Jay Duplass), and pretty much getting away with insider trading, Harper was brought into a meeting with Pierpoint’s HR department. Remember how Harper forged her undergraduate degree? Her employer has finally sniffed out that lie. If there is a Season 3, it will likely chronicle the sharpest fall Harper has experienced to date.

But she wouldn’t be the only one grappling with a new reality. After learning the truth about her rich dad, Yasmin (Marisa Abela) swore she’d never take money from him again. That decision didn’t just cost her housing and her shopping budget; it cost her a job and a lover. Without her connections, Celeste (Katrine De Candole) dropped Yasmin as quickly as possible. If there is another season, fingers crossed we get a team up between these two.
